Special Education Certification

PRE-REQUISITES

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.

    • Alternatively, a teaching certificate in any U.S. state.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 250 documented hours in general teaching or tutoring.

  • At least 50 documented hours dedicated to instructing students with special needs.

COURSE MATERIAL

Interactive Training Module:

  • Engage with our 'Strategies for Teaching Students with Special Learning Needs' guide. This encompasses both written material and video content on the following:

    • Grasping the intricacies of special educational needs

    • Adopting best teaching practices and strategies.

    • Effective communication techniques with both parents and students.

  • This review guide also includes an interactive training model to practice for the evaluation.

Evaluation:

  • This evaluation is based on content from the interactive training module.

  • Candidates must achieve a score of 90% or higher.

Focused Training Session:

  • Undertake a one-hour intensive training session with our lead certification instructor.

    • If applicable, revisit and reinforce any topics or areas from the assessment where performance was suboptimal to ensure comprehensive understanding.

$350 certification fee

Work Perk: This certification is free to current Cascade Enrichment educators.

Educators may work at their own pace to complete this certification program.
