UW Computer Science and Assessment Development

Claire is currently studying computer science at the University of Washington. She has competed in several coding competitions and placed first at the State Science Olympiad Code Analysis tournament. Her personal projects include a social media website, a personality test, and the Cascade Assessment Software coded in collaboration with Alex Metzger. At Cascade Enrichment, she teaches coding and math and has recently taken on the tech lead role. Outside of school she is a member of the UW orchestra and plays tennis in her free time.

As a CS student at UW, Alex is currently involved in research on the eKichabi project (studying the economic benefits of and pioneering technological solutions for mobile deployment in rural Tanzania and the rest of Africa) with Professor Richard and the ICTD Lab. At Cascade Enrichment, Alex co-created the Cascade Assessment Software with Claire and has recently taken on a tech lead role to facilitate uses of technology in teaching. Outside work, Alex has enjoyed practicing the violin for 13 years and now performs both with the UW Symphony and in audio recordings for a Danish documentary producer. Alex has been known to play chess and tennis when his mind and body needs exercising.

Are you looking for a strong role model and tutor for your child? Or perhaps you would like some help with a coding or website project?
